The Cost of Therapy

How much doses therapy cost? The cost of therapy does depend upon MANY factors.

1. The cost of therapy will depend upon whether or not you plan to use insurance, EAP, or pay out of pocket.

2. If you are paying out of pocket, then the cost of therapy will depend upon the provider that you do see.  All of our providers do charge different rates depending upon their level of expertise.

Independently licensed therapists charge $200 for the intake and $180 for regular therapy sessions.  They do not offer a sliding scale to new patients.

Associate licensed therapists charge $140 for the intake and $125 for regular therapy sessions. The also offer a sliding scale for those that have financial concerns.

Pre-licensed therapists charge $120 for the intake sessions and $100 for regular therapy sessions. They offer a sliding scale for those that have financial concerns.

Interns charge $60 for the intake and $50 for regular therapy sessions.

2. The cost of therapy will depend upon the copay that you have with your insurance company. If you have a $20 copay then the cost of therapy will be $20.

3.  If you are planning to use an EAP benefit then you will usually not have to pay anything for therapy.

4.  If you have a high deductible plan, then you are responsible for the full contracted rate until your deductible is meet. The contract rate for therapy is over $100. Once when you meet your deductible then you are responsible for your coinsurance which is a percentage of the contracted rate. The contracted rate varies significantly by the name of your insurance company. If you can't afford to pay at least $100 for therapy then you can inquire about our sliding scale options.
