Spirituality and Values Informed Care
At Eagles Counseling, we recognize that spirituality and personal values are important aspects of many people's lives. Spirituality and values can take many different forms. Some individuals may believe in a higher power without participating in organized religion, while others may actively practice a faith tradition such as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, or another religion.
For many people, their faith community provides a sense of purpose, meaning, connection, and support. At the same time, others may have experienced religious trauma or harmful experiences within religious institutions and may view organized religion negatively. These individuals may find purpose and fulfillment through other avenues, such as community involvement, advocacy, environmental causes, social justice work, or supporting marginalized communities.
At Eagles Counseling, we respect the diverse beliefs, values, and life experiences of our clients. We believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is built on understanding, respect, and alignment with what matters most to each individual. When possible, we strive to connect clients with therapists who are knowledgeable about, supportive of, and respectful of their values and worldview.
For example, if you are seeking faith-based counseling, we will work to match you with a therapist who can incorporate those beliefs into the therapeutic process. If you are an atheist who values political activism, social justice, or community advocacy, we will strive to connect you with a therapist who understands and respects those perspectives. More broadly, if your personal, political, spiritual, or social values are important to your identity and well-being, we will seek to connect you with a therapist who is a good fit for your needs. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, affirming environment where every client feels heard, respected, and supported.
