• LGBTQIA Feeling Safe

Today, many individuals from the LGBTQIA community do not feel safe. Many LGBTQIA people do not feel safe at work, school, and even with their family. There are many bills targeting this population. There are many religious leaders pulling scriptures out of context to marginalize this population.

Eagles Counseling is an inclusive practice. We do not turn people away that are from the LGBTQIA community. We affirm who you are as a person. We will use the pronouns and call you by the name that supports your identity. We believe that you have the right to be with the partner(s) of your choice. We believe that you are a person that deserves the same respect and dignity as everyone else.

I know that there are many individuals that do not feel comfortable seeking therapy at an inclusive practice. If this makes you feel uncomfortable then you can seek services elsewhere. However, you might have a hard time finding a provider that isn’t inclusive and welcoming to the LGBTQIA community since most providers, practices, and agencies are heading in this direction.

If you are an LGBTQIA patient and your feel disrespected by a provider, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.  We have a zero tolerance policy for using conversion therapy and for misgendering someone.

    Sincerely,
